Abstract
We prove Campana's orbifold Iitaka subadditivity conjecture for rational simple normal crossing boundaries on compact manifolds in Fujiki class $\mathcal C$, including coefficient one. Ordinary and logarithmic subadditivity follow.

Formalization
- OpenAI, Family 033 Lean scope note (OpenAI math release, 2026-10-06). The family scope note covers only the reverse-additivity companion’s negative-fiber branch, not this paper’s main theorem. [family-level]
Possibly relevant literature (found by the agent, not checked)
- Osamu Fujino, On subadditivity of the logarithmic Kodaira dimension (arXiv:1406.2759, v1 June 2014). Reduces the logarithmic subadditivity conjecture to a special case of generalized abundance and proves it for affine varieties; relevant to the paper's logarithmic subadditivity corollary, and not in its bibliography.
- Bojie He and Xiangyu Zhou, On the subadditivity of generalized Kodaira dimensions (arXiv:2405.08265, May 2024). Gives an analytic proof of Fujino's subadditivity result for log Kodaira dimensions via multiplier-ideal versions of numerical Kodaira dimension; an analytic approach to the same logarithmic inequality.
- Houari Benammar Ammar, Kodaira dimension of algebraic fiber spaces over threefolds: Part 1 (arXiv:2605.08598, May 2026). Proves some cases of $C_{n,3}$, including some Calabi–Yau threefold bases; these are special cases of the ordinary subadditivity corollary claimed here.
- Enrica Floris and Vladimir Lazić, A travel guide to the canonical bundle formula (arXiv:1907.10490, 2019). Provides algebraic background for the canonical-bundle-formula reduction and discriminant/moduli comparison used in the claimed orbifold subadditivity proof.
Digests and expositions
- AI Proved What?, Do the forms add up? (Episode 033, October 2026). AI-assisted family exposition outlining subadditivity, variation, additivity, and the limited Lean scope. [AI-generated per source] [family-level]
News and blogs
- Carlos Toledo, OpenAI’s math release: what it claims beyond what it checks (public audit, 2026-10-10). The family-033 entry compares the advertised orbifold and variation claims with the narrower Lean statement; this is a scope assessment, not a mathematical refutation. [family-level]

Family 033: Iitaka subadditivity, variation, and logarithmic additivity
Proves Campana's orbifold Iitaka subadditivity conjecture for smooth Fujiki-class-$\mathcal C$ manifolds with rational simple-normal-crossing boundaries. For projective fibrations $f:U\to V$ of smooth complex quasi-projective varieties with connected fibers, general fiber F, and $\bar\kappa(V)\ge0$, proves Popa's inequality $\bar\kappa(U)\ge\kappa(F)+\max\{\bar\kappa(V),\mathop{\mathrm{Var}}\nolimits (f)\}$, where variation measures the whole geometric generic fiber.
